Sewer Line Repair Across Broward County
We work across Broward County, concentrated in the older housing stock north and east of Pembroke Pines. Pipe material follows build year rather than city limits — Florida construction moved to PVC in the late 1970s — so every city page below is written against that city's own U.S. Census housing-age data.

Where Broward's Cast Iron Actually Is
Florida residential construction moved to PVC through the late 1970s, so a home's build year predicts its drain material better than its city does. The table below ranks the cities we cover by the number of homes standing that were built before 1980 — the addressable cast-iron stock, not just the percentage, which is why a big city with a moderate share outranks a small city with a high one.
| City | Homes built pre-1980 | Share pre-1980 | Median year built |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fort Lauderdale | 67,143 | 66.3% | 1972 |
| Hollywood | 54,216 | 74.7% | 1969 |
| Pompano Beach | 40,208 | 67.0% | 1974 |
| Deerfield Beach | 28,022 | 60.5% | 1977 |
| Lauderhill | 20,302 | 67.3% | 1976 |
| Hallandale Beach | 19,838 | 68.4% | 1975 |
| Margate | 15,778 | 58.4% | 1978 |
| Pembroke Pines | 15,419 | 23.1% | 1992 |
| Oakland Park | 12,690 | 66.1% | 1972 |
| Dania Beach | 9,994 | 59.6% | 1977 |
| North Lauderdale | 9,589 | 58.8% | 1978 |
| Wilton Manors | 5,430 | 73.7% | 1971 |

Pembroke Pines is the outlier in the table and we say so on its page: at a 1992 median it is one of the youngest housing stocks in the county, so cast iron is the exception there rather than the rule. Root intrusion and settled, bellied pipe are the common failures in newer Broward construction.
